The Human Performance Lab

Welcome to the Human Performance Lab at DeerFields Clinic

The Human Performance Lab (HPL) at DeerFields Clinic, was founded in 2020. The HPL is a multidisciplinary performance centre that investigates physical fitness attributes and their impact on performance & longevity. The lab is equipped with high tech equipment to conduct fitness appraisals in the areas of Strength, Power, Endurance, Aerobic Capacity, Mobility and Agility.

A key purpose of the HPL is to extend the evidence base in order to obtain further insight into the optimal dose of of exercise for improving health. Personalized exercise prescription is highly complex in its implementation as it is dependent on a variety of lifestyle and genetic factors. As a result, the HPL is also used to educate individuals in the core areas of lifestyle (Fitness, Nutrition, Sleep, Stress, toxins) with the intention of improving human performance.

Tests performed at the DeerFields Clinic Human Performance Lab include:

  • Comprehensive Health Examinations
  • Functional Movement Screens
  • Musculoskeletal Testing
  • VO2max Testing
  • Human Performance Evaluations
